Not that long ago, I was talking about hand-me downs for the girls on Instagram. Between clothes, accessories and furniture, Noa hasn’t had a lot of her own stuff. Noa is definitely my girly-girl and I’ve been trying to switch out a few things to suit her personality more. One of the pieces I wanted to replace for her was her glider. The glider we have in there now was from when Isla was a baby, but we found for Noa’s room we needed something with a smaller footprint. Our current one is quite large and bulky.

This rocker features a high backrest which I was pleasantly surprised with. Because Mark is so tall, I was worried it wouldn’t be comfortable for him. The choices for fabric were unbelievably extensive for a rocker and I loved that there were over 20 fabrics to choose from. I decided to go with the Performance Heathered fabric in the colour Dune. What does Performance Heathered mean? Well, this material is a polyester fabric that’s very durable. It’s also stain-resistant, water repellant, and very easy to clean and maintain which I think is very important when there are kids involved, ha-ha! This polyester fabric offers a subtle mixed color variation that adds depth and smooth-to-the-touch texture. For the base, you have two options, Maple or Walnut and I went with Maple to keep it light.
There are two options to shop with Monte; ‘made to order’ or ‘quick ship items’. If you choose the quick ship items, your item will ship within 7-14 days. If you choose to design your item yourself, like I did, you can expect 8-10 weeks for delivery. But guess what, either way, the Joya Rocker comes FULLY ASSEMBLED! No more putting furniture together – hallelujah!
Now, I do want to say that if you have carpet in your bedrooms, I would recommend a glider over a rocker as I found it rocks more smoothly on hard floors vs carpet. BUT, Monte has several gliders that I think are beautiful options!
