SIMPLE RULES FOR EATING BETTER

Feeling lost on your fitness journey? Stuck in your stretchy pants? #guiltyascharged

Who isn’t! Sometimes life can get the best of us and we are zooming by on auto-pilot and the days run into weeks! Life can feel like an out of control ice cream binge but a consistent fitness routine and easy daily food decisions can help us reach our goals.

The biggest reality is what we eat is about 80% of our fitness goals. You CAN’T out train a bad diet. Which means the person that coined the saying “a moment on the lips is forever on the hips” isn’t all that far off!

Like anything we want (and health and fitness should be something you want!) we need to work at it. So get your notebook ready it’s time to get down to business with my easy tips for reaching your healthy eating goals:

  1. Don’t drink your calories! Drink 8-12 glasses of water a day to boost metabolism and hydration. Carry a water bottle in your bag. You will drink it!

  2. Eat off your small plates. It will help with portion control.

  3. Eat a healthy breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up. It’ll rev up your metabolism and give you energy for the day!

  4. Eat 5-6 healthy times a day. This includes snacks and main meals.

  5. Eat to 80% full, have some water and walk away. Our stomachs are roughly the size of our closed fist.

  6. Don’t eat with distractions. No TV, no computer no phone. Without distractions you’ll make smarter choices and eat less.

  7. Do your prep work. Buy your healthy groceries, chop up your veggies/fruit. If its convenient you will eat it, make fruit and veg convenient.

  8. Get rid of crap. It’s simple... if it’s not around there is no temptation.

  9. Find your indulgence balance. Treat yourself once and awhile but remember It’s quality over quantity and after you are straight back into healthy habits.

  10. Be happy. Enjoy every healthy choice; enjoy your healthy lifestyle and how great you’ll feel!

You can do this!
