Does anyone else have a house that acts as the family hub? That would be our home! Between us, family, and friends, we have many people in and out all the time. We aren’t always home when people arrive so we had to find a way to let people in without getting a million keys cut; ha-ha!
Of course, we wanted the latest and greatest for smart home tech so I knew I could look through BestBuy.ca and find some great options! I came across the August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (4th Generation). You guys know I’m pretty particular about the way things look and I loved the sleek modern design. It was aesthetically pleasing and went well with our newly built home.
This specific Smart Lock has the easiest installation I’ve seen. It attaches to your existing deadbolt so you can keep all of your original keys! Once installed, because of the integrated Wi-Fi, it connects to the app right from the start. Acting as a virtual key, access can be given to any guests you may have.
You can remotely lock and unlock your doors wherever you are! This feature is really important to us because when my mom gets into town, we’re usually at the grocery store or running errands and now she can let herself in without having to wait in her car. I like that I can also track everyone who has entered/exited our home along with the exact times.
One of my favourite features is that it comes with Auto-unlock. So, when I arrive home and my hands are full with Noa or groceries, the door automatically unlocks! You can even set it up so it automatically locks every time it closes. But perhaps you don’t want your door to automatically lock/unlock, there is a settings section in the app where you can customize the controls to your liking. August Wi-Fi Smart Lock is easily controlled with voice assistants like Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant as well – so cool!
