Now that summer has ended (insert my sad face here) it’s time to welcome Fall in all its glory.
Two of our favourite Autumn bucket list activities are visiting the Bowden SunMaze and strolling through Bowness Park. The girls always love being outside and the more time we spend exploring in nature, the better!
If you haven’t been to either of these places, let me fill you in!
Bowden SunMaze
Bowden SunMaze is a 10-acre farm with a cute petting zoo, a farmers market with local vendors offering fresh local products and a large sunflower maze that you can stroll through! Our girls love visiting with the gentle horses, and I love the sunflowers the best, especially when we go at the end of the day while the sun is setting. It’s a photographer’s dream!
Bowness Park
Bowness Park is located in North-West Calgary and this place is one of our favourites all year long. However, there are many things to do during this time of year –we love taking advantage of the large fire pits, the quiet walking trails and the playgrounds. The giant trees are stunning in Autumn and the girls love running through the freshly fallen leaves.
Because we spend so much time outside in the sun, it’s important for me to make sure my eyes are protected. You’ve seen me talk a lot about my favourite IRIS frames, but did you know I wear contacts every day too?
This time of year always reminds me of the first time I wore contact lenses. I remember stepping outside in September and visibly seeing the detail on every fall leaf in front of me. It was mind-blowing to me that I had missed out on seeing these details and that it was so easy to pop in some contacts to see so clearly! I’m always reminded of this story as I admire the changing colors of the leaves around me.
