If you love rainbows, sparkle and unicorns, this party theme is for you. Kids and adults alike will be swooning over the fun details. To celebrate Isla turning five, we put together a birthday party she is sure to remember. After all, what screams FIVE more than rainbows and unicorns!
I always go over the top when it comes to parties and decorations because honestly, I love it! Seeing a well planned party come to life makes me happy and it is something I genuinely enjoy doing. All the stress it causes me the week before is totally worth it when I see those special details on the big day! I'm going to share some of the ways we made this party extra special.
PARTY SUPPLIES AND TABLEWARE
These are some essentials that complete any party theme for me. You'll want to pick up some plates, napkins, straws, cups, cutlery and tablecloths that coordinate with your design. I choose to go with soft colors like pink, teal, yellow and metallics! We incorporated these colors in everything we did to tie our theme together. Unicorn plates, gold cutlery and polka dot straws were my go to this time. Our treat bags lined the centre of the table and made for a fun centrepiece. They also gave the kids something to look forward to at the end of the day!

DECORATIONS
When it came to decorations I knew I wanted to do a streamer backdrop as the focal point. I bought rolls of crepe paper in our pretty colors and cut and tied various lengths off a piece of plastic garden grid. I hung metallic, glittery circles about a foot apart across the width of the backdrop for some extra sparkle! The texture and color of the backdrop really made the party! I plan on hanging it in my garage and using it for other party themes in the future as well!

PARTY TREATS
Delicious treats not only taste great, but they complete the theme of your party. We loved this simple yet oh so gorgeous unicorn cake complete with confetti inside! Isla thought the colourful mane was magical and I loved the dusting of sparkles added on top. Keep in mind, not everything has to be unicorn themed. Cookies done in various shapes and sizes were the perfect touch! There were the sweetest stars, rainbows and of course cookies with the birthday girl's name (along with unicorns because how could we not!). We added a few jars of candies on the buffet and some vegan cupcakes for our friends.

UNICORN ART PROJECT
Last but not least, why not include a unicorn themed art project! Your party guests will have a blast creating a master piece of their own using canvas, paint, ribbons, and sequins. Their artwork will give them something to remember the party by and it is fun to see how unique each painting is in the end. I had everything organized in bags so each child was all set up. I wanted to make sure there was enough of the good stuff to go around. ;)

Another successful party done and we had the best time celebrating little miss Isla with incredible friends! I can't believe how quickly time passes. Seriously. I had better start thinking of her sixth birthday at this rate. Oh my gosh!
