Today, Mark and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. Where the heck has the time gone!? I know everyone says that, but honestly, time has just flown by!
I thought it would be fun to take a look back on our wedding day, so here it goes;
Our wedding took place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the summer. I love DIY's and being crafty so almost all of my details were handmade or purchased from Etsy. Our theme was Italian, vintage, rustic & romantic which I felt was reflected in the soft colors, the simple and sweet florals, my romantic lace and tulle gown, and lots of wood and lace details throughout.
Quick backstory – My mom, sister, and I had traveled to Italy in the summer of 2011 and I fell in love with everything from the food, the cities, the wine, and the culture. Fast forward to when we were choosing our venue, I knew I wanted something as amazing as Italy itself. Bonterra really brought me back to that amazing trip I had taken the year before with its beautiful patio, delicious food, and its rustic old-world charm. The ambiance of Bonterra’s patio was the perfect place for us to say I Do and celebrate with our family and friends.
I love my Lazaro wedding dress so much. Not only was the mermaid style perfect for me, but the mixture of tulle and lace was exactly what I wanted! For the reception, I added a Lazaro beaded satin belt to mix things up. It was stunning! For our wedding party, I chose the colors and fabric for the girls. We went with two tones of coral chiffon, but had them choose which dress they liked best on their bodies. Mark and I thought grey/black was best for the guys so we kept it classic.
One of my favorite parts of our wedding day was our "First Look" at a little overgrown garden/fountain that we often took walks through as a couple. When I look back at the photos of this day, it honestly makes me so happy. Although years go by and styles change, there is very little I would do differently. Our wedding day was so perfect and I’m so happy to be on this journey with Mark.
