MUST HAVE BATH PRODUCTS FOR YOUR BABY

Mom and baby with some bath time products.

I have teamed up with @johnsonsbabyca to create this post. Like always, all options are my own.

Before Noa was born, I found myself researching baby products to stock our nursery with. It’s been almost 5 years since we’ve had a newborn baby in the house, so I knew I had to do some research. We all know things change and I was delighted and relieved to come across JOHNSON’S.

We live in Calgary, Alberta and it’s quite dry here, so I had to make sure Noa’s skin was going to stay hydrated. My amazing midwife and I were discussing how babies live in the wettest environment for nine months so it is important to find something to protect their delicate skin once they are born. Did you know that a baby’s skin is up to 30% thinner than adults? Me neither, but that means they can lose moisture twice as fast as adults! My skin in the winter is a nightmare so I can only imagine how sweet Noa would feel without proper hydration.

After some looking around I decided to go with JOHNSON’S CottonTouch™ which is designed specifically for a newborn’s delicate skin. The soft formula of the CottonTouch™ Newborn Wash & Shampoo is ultra-light and gentle turning into a velvety lather that is easy to rinse and leaves no residue. I remember Isla being so slippery in the tub as a baby so a product that rinses clean was a must! I made sure to get Noa the CottonTouch™ Newborn Face & Body Lotion too as it has a breathable and hydrating water-based formula made with real cotton. How cool is that! It is lightweight and absorbs rapidly keeping your sweet babe hydrated for 24hrs. Take that Canadian winters!

We all know how awful diaper rashes can be so finding the right cream was super important. I decided to get the PENATEN® Medicated Cream as it will soothe, heal and protect Noa’s skin. There’s nothing worse than having a baby with a bad diaper rash and having to apply and reapply diaper cream many times a day can be such a hassle. I remember doing this with Isla as a baby and the stress I felt knowing my poor babe was so uncomfortable broke my heart. I hated seeing her in pain and I hated worrying about whether her current diaper cream needed to be reapplied. Thankfully, because of the thick and rich formula, PENATEN® Medicated Cream stays in place to relieve diaper rash after just one use. Every mama’s dream!

I truly appreciate that Johnson & Johnson have always been committed to improving the lives of families. Not only did they listen to parents from around the world to reformulate their products, inside and out, but they also partner with global health authorities, doctors, nurses, midwives and leading baby experts to understand the unique needs of babies at every age and stage around the world.

I love that JOHNSON’S scientists are parents themselves, and that they develop their products with the same care and rigor that they want for their own children. Their products have 50% fewer ingredients, and are free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. The washes, lotions and haircare products are also made with 96% naturally-derived ingredients and were designed to be close to your baby’s natural skin and hair pH to avoid disrupting the skin barrier.

Noa’s nursery is now stocked and I’m confident these products will be gentle and helpful to our new baby girl!
