EASY, DELICIOUS HOMEMADE BELGIAN WAFFLES

A homemade belgian waffle topped with berries and syrup on a white plate.

This Belgian Waffle recipe belonged to my friend's grandmother and we have been using it for 30 years or so. I know you are going to love it as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • 2 Egg Yolks

  • 2 Egg Whites

  • 2 Cup Milk

  • 2 Cup Flour

  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/3 Cup Oil

  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Beat 2 egg whites in a small bowl; you will want the whites to be nice and fluffy with stiff peaks! Once those are done, you can set them aside.

Put the remaining ingredients in a large bowl and mix on low until moistened. Once ready, increase the speed to medium and mix until everything is smooth.

By hand, fold in the egg whites to the rest of the mixture.

Now you're ready to bake waffles! Once they're golden brown, you're ready to enjoy. I typically leave mine in the waffle iron for 5 minutes. We love topping our waffles with different kinds of berries, icing sugar and maple syrup!

Enjoy!
