A FLORAL FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR NOA

Just like my other fellow moms out there, I'm not sure where the time has gone; how is my sweet Noa 1 already! It was bittersweet planning her first birthday and despite the hail storm we got, it turned out perfectly.

Between Isla and Noa, Noa is going to be my little feminist wild child. Both of my girls love being in nature, which I'm so thankful for, so we decided to play on that. Our theme had a mix of boho, moroccan, and floral vibes and I loved it!

Melissa from Melissa Dawn Designs made our birthday dreams come true. She did everything from the styling, design to decor. We held the party at our house in the backyard - until it started hailing - ha-ha! Melissa and her team were at my house setting up bright and early. They truly are the loveliest bunch of ladies! If you have an upcoming event I highly suggest her. I was able to relax and enjoy time with my family instead of stressing about the party details. I loved spending the morning with Noa on her special day instead of worrying about how things were coming together. It was priceless! I don't think I'll do another event without her!

The floral arrangements from Meadow and Vine Floral were absolutely stunning; they took my breath away. They had everything from fresh flowers to pampas grasses to dried palm leaves. It all looked like something out of a magazine! I loved the soft mauve colors of the flowers and the feathery texture of the pampas grasses. These were probably the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen!

We also rented this gorgeous vintage white dresser from Rare Vintage Rentals located in Okotoks. I loved the stunning gold ornate handles. We used the dresser to showcase the custom plant pots for our Thank You Succulents from You Grow Girl. On the plant pots, we had written "thank you for helping me grow" because each and every person there has truly been a huge part of Noa's life. We also had two coloured rock choices that you could decorate your pots with - green and pink - so fun!

For our partyware, we chose to use A Little Confetti. We had a mixture of plates and cups for our guests; we used the Ballet Large Plate and the Wildflower Heart Large Plates as well as the Wildflower Pastel Cups. Everything was the perfect mix of girly and whimsical. I love using Kristin because she has so many fun and unique choices to choose from. They always make me excited to plan the next party!

Now last but certainly not least, let's talk treats! Our cookies were from Sugarbakers Cookie Co. If you have not yet tried Michelle's cookies, you are missing out! They are so fricken good! We are definitely huge fans! She blows me away with her cookie art and half the time I'm not sure how she accomplishes what she does with icing. It's amazing! True art.

Our cake is from Vicki and her team at Pretty Sweet YYC. We have been using Vicki for many years and always love her cakes. For Noa's birthday, we did Cookies and Cream and it was as yummy as it sounds - (insert drool face). I love how simple and classic her cake was with some beautiful roses and succulents on top.

Despite being rained out an hour after it began, it was truly the best day! I have so many great memories from this party and I'm so grateful we had our loved ones there to celebrate with us. Did you plan a first birthday for your little one?
