It's official!! The crib is gone and Noa has a big girl bed. I can't believe my last baby is growing up so quickly. It feels like yesterday I set up her nursery in anticipation of her arrival. Where did the time go!?
The style I chose for Noa's room is still similar to her boho nursery. I didn't want to change it too much because I know she is still so into her beautiful wallpaper and the adorable llamas we incorporated. I kept it feminine, simple and boho. Since Noa is my girly girl, I used a ton of purple and some soft pink while mixing in some blues and gold for contrast.
The mattress on a bed is such an important part of a room. Noa's, like the rest of the mattresses in our home, is from Silk and Snow and I swear by their products. They have a few mattresses to chose from ranging from medium firmness to softer and there's even an organic option. Silk and Snow is a Canadian company and I'm always so impressed with their customer service! They use the highest quality materials and promote conscious manufacturing and transparency. We chose the original S&S mattress because it is my personal favorite. I love how it cradles my body when I sleep!
Noa's Jenny Lind bedframe, like her sister Isla's, is from Crate and Barrel. I had bought this frame years ago and kept it for this big day. If you follow along on my Instagram you know that the frame was broken into a few pieces once I opened the box. Thankfully I was able to repair it with some wood filler, wood glue, sanding and paint. Just don't look at it too close! I'm definitely not a professional. Haha! I was able to find the perfect coordinating round mirror at Pottery Barn to go above Noa's bed.
I love adding texture to a space and so I chose a variety of blankets and pillows for Noa's bed. I ordered some petal pink sheets and some pillow cases in both petal pink and white from Silk and Snow. Their linen bedding is made with 100% European flax and the bedding is so lightweight and breathable! I loved this soft pink color for Noa because it is delicate and girly, just like her. Silk and Snow is big on transparency, quality and sustainability and they have outlined the entire process of what goes into manufacturing their bedding on their website here.
Noa loves purple and so I had to add a purple duvet! I found the color I wanted from from MagicLinen called Woodrose, along with some adorable pom pom pillow cases. I also selected a beautiful waffle throw blanket for the end of her bed in a gorgeous dusty blue. MagicLinen has the best cotton/linen waffle throws! A sandy beige sheet was the perfect color to finish it all off. Their bedding is soft, breathable and hypoallergenic. Best of all, they have so many beautiful colors to choose from!
We added a few little friends to Noa's room for playtime and cuddle time. Cuddle and Kind dolls have always been a favourite of mine and this little mermaid had all of the same colors I incorporated. A llama was an obvious choice and I included this custom Dainty Cheeks unicorn that I had made for Noa on her first birthday. The details and quality of these dolls are so beautiful!
Behind Noa's dresser I painted the wall this adorable scalloped pattern with a soft pink called Wheatberry from BM. It was so easy and it adds so much character to her space. We kept the rainbow print from Little Lief Creative from her nursery and a few of my favourite decor pieces. The little woven rainbow from Chasing Rainbows just had to be included! We have an adorable book corner where we keep Noa's favorite books on floating shelves below the best sign from Wooly Petals Wood Co.
Noa has been sleeping like a baby and she hasn't rolled out of bed yet! To prevent any falls, we kept her crib mattress and store it under her bed during the daytime. At night we pull it out and keep it beside her bed just in case. This stage is so short and I didn't want to have to invest in a bed rail if I didn't have to. I love that she is so comfortable and cozy in her new room and she looks so precious napping in her big girl bed.
The wallpaper is from Anewall and we installed it when Noa was just a baby. I love the boho vibe it has and the colors in the paper are so gorgeous. It felt just girly enough and Noa loves the little animals on her wall. This wallpaper will work for a few more years so I'm happy to keep it!
What do you think?! Do you love it as much as I do?! I hope so!
