LAVENDAR & SAGE GIN SODA RECIPE

Hot spring days mean the flowers and herbs are growing like crazy. So in the spirit, I put together this lavender and sage gin soda! I sometimes find sage to be overpowering in a cocktail, but next to the lavender the flavour and aromatics are much softer. I promise, you will love it!

Choosing the gin was a no brainer for me - Eau Claire was the winner. It's a local gin distilled in Turner Valley and it's delicious. It's got a few floral notes, some citrus and a little spice - it is fantastic in a cocktail (or on its own). That being said, most people have a favorite so go ahead and use whichever gin you love.

YIELD – 4 cocktails

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 oz. gin

  • 1 oz. honey, lavender & sage syrup (click for recipe)

  • Juice of 2 limes - squeeze half a lime into each cocktail (minus 1 slices)

  • 4-6 oz. soda (sparkling) water

  • ice cubes

TO GARNISH

  • 4 sage leaves

  • 1 lime slice cut into quarters

  • 1/4 tsp. lavender blossoms

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put ice cubes in cocktail glasses and build cocktail over ice.

  2. Pour gin into glass first, followed by the simple syrup, and then the fresh squeezed lime juice.

  3. Give the cocktail a good stir and add in lime slice and lavender blossoms.

  4. Top with soda and garnish with sage leaf.

  5. Last but not least, invite some friends over and get your drink on!

Hope you love this cocktail recipe as much as I do!
