WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS?
I create non-toxic silicone and wooden teethers & accessories. My son, Dawson, is my inspiration. As my maternity leave was ending, I was looking for a creative outlet & a way to spend as much time as possible at home with Dawson. I noticed that while teething, he was drawn to chewing on his wooden blocks. I decided to try & create a modern, non-toxic & natural product that Dawson & hopefully other Mama’s and babies would love.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT WITH YOUR BUSINESS?
An incredible local shop, Rhosyn floral, asked me to contribute my products to their amazing floral Mom & baby gift boxes. I had long admired Erica’s beautiful work, and was so amazed she was interested in my little shop.
HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED AND INSPIRED?
I am so inspired everyday by all of the incredible #mombosses out there! I see how successful these amazing Moms have become in their small businesses, and it motivates me to work hard & get there too!
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A WORK-LIFE BALANCE?
I’m definitely still figuring that out! I try as much as possible to keep Little Bear business confined to nap times and the evenings. Some days work out better than others! I’m back to work part time as an RN in the NICU, so the balance is a work in progress! I have an amazing mom & husband, and I definitely wouldn’t be able to do it without their help & support!
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOM MOMENT?
Honestly every day I continue to be amazed by Dawson as he develops into this incredible little man! Every little milestone he reaches just blows me away. This past weekend he took his first steps and I thought my heart might explode!
WHAT IS YOUR BEST PARENTING ADVICE?
My best parenting advice is to remember that for every difficult moment, there are a hundred incredible ones! I love that quote that says “Every day might not be good, but there is good in every day”.
